    MYMC,

Any idea the top speed on the X1 with the MCX?

If you were to recommend that boat to me, would it be with the Powerslot????? I hope not, but want to check.

How on earth can a 23 foot Vdrive top out at 48mph, while my lean and mean 197/X7 top out at 44-45mph?

    Yes, I have the MCX.

Get a GPS, or borrow a friends. They are as cheap as $50 bucks at Walmart.

I did find that the "curve" between perfect pass and the speedo differs by 3mph. What I mean is....if I calibrate it perfect (Perfect Pass and factory speedo match) at 25mph, they will start to differ...

I truly hate the fact that the larger engines need premium fuel.

I would buy one in a second, but that would exclude me from fueling up on the lake.

    Grrrrrr

  • PS...

Nick and Julz use a X7/197 at their wakeboard school. I have complained mightily about the wake behind my boat only to have somebody come out and throw HUGE backflips and ralleys behind my boat with no weight at all.

I just shut up, open another beer, and concede...

  • I cannot help but to think that the number one boat, the boat that pulled the first 1080, was the 205 ski hull.

Fat seats are great, but filled may be too much for that boat. Fat seat in back, and a few hundred pounds worth of lead or fat asses in front.

    Fill or drain...

I bought an air chair a few years ago. Took a whole day to get up. After you get it, its easier than even a wakeboard.

What I like about hydrofoiling is that it can be relaxing when needed. On a windy day, when the water is useless for just about anything else, you can go out and just...

    replied to Trouble Launching 197
Its normal. I for the most part only launch my boat once a year so I am no good at it. When I do, I have to use what I believe is way more power than should be needed to get the boat up to the boat buddy and in doing so usually rub some of the soft boat buddy rubber onto my boat about 12" down...

There would be no point to a two speed tranny if you had an adjustable pitch prop, as far as I could tell.

You could have a much smaller more efficient engine which may be an issue if gas gets way over six or seven bucks a gallon.

The ability to keep the strain on the...

I use a 250' rope, so it really doesn't come into play for me.

The physics explanation is correct, but I think its worth noting that if you take a 197 and add the tower/etc it will ski just like the X7. Same boat, minus the add ons. I am pretty sure that if you take the 197, add the...

I am in both all the time. I have the X7.

Yes, there is a difference in the wake, but only because of the added weight. My X7 definitely has a little harder bump than my neighbors 197, but his is absolutely stock in every way and he keeps nothing in it. Nothing.

    I have...

Hmm. I have heard that the X1/205V hull is the best Vdrive slalom wake, mostly due to the fact that the 205 hull in a direct drive configuration is an AWSA approved tow boat.

I have also heard, from more than one person, that the next best boat is the Xstar but only at about 33mph. ...

A good point was brought up. If you damage the boat during extraction, your insurance carrier will more than likely deny the claim.

If I remember right, my boat insurance policy covers the cost to remove my boat from a body of water if it sinks. I would guess that there is a very...
