I'd get the multimeter out and start checking stuff before replacing loads of bits:

1) voltage at coil
2) resistance of coil
3) test bulb on the LT coil trigger
4) pull a plug and check the spark on c...

Generally the engine codes will reset after a certain number of cycles without the error occurring, but you should be able to reset it by putting the engine into service mode (normally with a code reader), turning the ignition on but not starting, then moving the throttle from 0-100-0%

No cracks in the tread or sidewalls, good tread, no bulges or cuts and only about 3000 miles on them.... I'd say that qualifies as "perfect external condition"

I had this a few years ago, it was the coil inside the distributor that the ECU uses to sense the engine turning over (had to do a field strip and rebuild & luckily had ordered that part by accident a few years previous), it was not the ICM.

"trust your training!" if you drained the block, ran antifreeze through it etc... then just de-winterise and have fun - unless there's a big hole in the side of the block or manifolds, the likelihood of finding an issue without running up to temperature is pretty much zero.

justhavinfun this was discussed last year sometime, roughly 1 pass of a surf boat has similar energy as 120 passes with a ski boat, but the ski boat doesn't do so much damage, similar to hitting a nail 120 times by tapping will barely seat it compared to one massive whack....
