I will say I prefer my PCM over my previous Indmars as far as general design. But I have not worked on/owned an Ilmor. I particularly enjoy having a semi-closed cooling system. I know it is a simple thing, but not having to worry about my heater freezing, being able to see coolant levels, having...

Second the well said by broncotw. I also must commend aelewis for responding so politely to the more useless and mean spirited posts. Way to take the high ground.
Purchasing a boat from another dealer, even across the country, is easy. But when it comes to warranty or other work, you...

I would definitely not buy the G23 for its surf wake. But I have not been behind a G25. Your x45 with the proper ballast will surf better than a G23 IMHO.

GPH calculated the same for my 05 x2, Xstar, and G23. I top it off at every fill and record hours between fill ups.
There certainly is some non pull time in the ballasted calc. Prob about 15 minutes of engine time for every 2.5 hours of riding. But this would be the same for all the boats....Last edited by vision; 03-08-2013, 12:11 PM.

Can not comment on G25. But my G23 was about 5 k less than what I was quoted for similarly equiped x star. But I suspect the difference in cost comparison is highly market dependent. Def worth getting quotes in your market. Can not go wrong with either choice....

I track gph closely, mostly looking for any early signs of engine performance changes. G with 450 engine gets around 5 gph unballasted and cruising and 6.5 gph ballasted. I am sure the supercharged engine sucks more gas.
The G drafts 4" less than my xstar and its hull is bizarre....

My G23 burns slightly less fuel than my previous X-star. Around 6.5 gph with 3000 lbs of ballast....

Both boats have great features, but I had to agree with Tristar....

I would select AF Wake over both the camps you mentioned. The two mentioned are of course great camps. But AF Wake is very family oriented and Adam almost always has students in that age group. The camp is literally his parents lake home and Adam's mother plays a large role in caring for the campers....

Absolutely agree.
Arguably the best year for the 205V (newer tower and better materials on the dash than the 2006+ X1s). But significantly over priced at least for our area. My 2005 X2 was about that price brand new!...

Totally agree. We go from dry suit to shorts and heater shirts. Do not even use a wet suit any more. Nothing better than taking off a dry suit, slipping on a pair of thick socks and crocks, maybe a hoodie, and sitting down completely dry....

I will stir the pot:
More athletic ability to slalom ski or wakeboard compared to wakesurfing? Well, define athletic ability?
I have done all three sports as recreational enthusiast. I greatly prefer wakeboarding. But I have a great respect for the coordination and balance...

Neighbor dropped a chain saw off his dock in 15 feet of water. Even getting in the water within 10 minutes, they never found it.
Since my boat lives on a lift and we do our own maintenance, I have lost almost a whole tool set to the lake over the years. Sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers,...

Agreed. Great camera but the fish eye lens gets old fast. I have two. I use them for a few trips, then I realize how little of the footage or images I use and the hero ends up sitting around.
A 2x lens (not simply cutting off the sensor as the GP 2 and 3 do to achieve 90 degrees)...

We ride all year and once it starts dropping into the 30s, I drain my block and exhaust manifolds, pull off the raw water intake hose below the transmission cooler, and run some AF through the heater and blow it out. Only takes about 5 minutes. Just another option to decrease the potential for problems...
