Cavitation…churning water under the hull in reverse- it’s gonna feel choppy…churning h2o out the stern underway…smooth as butter. My boat does the same thing.

Spotter is for riders…driver for everything else. I’ve never run over a line/rope I’m responsible for. I’ve un-wrapped a couple from the prop with the all clear from spotters.

I’ve been through 2 on my 02 PS 190. It’s metal cable in plastic sheathing…just a matter of time before it rust, corrodes and fails. 8-10 years is a good run for a steering cable. Keeping the zerks full of grease does help.
Pretty easy to replace, but yeah it is a bit awkward...Leave a comment:

U might consider running seafoam in the tank and through the EFI/carb occasionally. Works wonders in small lawn equipment, cars, and ski boats.
I also try to fill up with 100% gas (no ethanol) once or three a summer.
