Is this how you used the well nuts on your bottom corners?

Thanks. I already saw the first two posted by you elsewhere and downloaded them for future reference. I've got to look at those corners. Something may have broken away and gotten lost. I'm not sure. It was years ago. On my list to check out....

A survey here on TT indicated 92 percent do not attach the emergency cutoff lanyard. One mode of being ejected would be if a failure to control the steering wheel properly led the boat to take a hard turn, with the centrifugal force from the turn throwing the driver out of the boat on the side of the...Last edited by lake weir skier; 12-10-2021, 10:32 PM.

Driver mobility. On the one I'm installing, the engine shut downs when a fob on the driver (on wristband, on lanyard, or in pocket) goes in the water or goes more than 50 feet from the hub on the boat, so I should be able to move all around in my 94 PS 190 without shutting down the engine. You can...

Dashboard questions
A couple of questions related to the dashboard (see photo) of my 94 PS 190.
I'm installing Fell Marine's MOB+ wireless emergency cutoff. Any suggestions on where I should install their hub (see photo), which takes a 2 1/6 inch hole? Compared to the gauges on my dash, it's larger than the...

Wireless emergency cutoff system
Do you have any experience with, or thoughts on, the MOB+ system by Fell Marine? This is a wireless emergency cutoff system that kills the engine if a fob on the driver (in a pocket, on their wristband, or on a lanyard), goes overboard into the water or is more than 50 feet from their base unit. Six...

This is what one of them looked like after sanding and spot filling with JB Weld. I stupidly let the belt sander hit the ridges at the exits where the hose attaches. I had to build those ridges up in places with JB Weld and sand. I sure was wishing I had been more careful. The repair seems to work fine,...

It's been awhile back that I did this, and I didn't write that down. I know I took the highest stuff, like the crude casting line, down with 80 grit on the belt sander. That left a big difference in texture between the smoothed area and the rest of the casting. I think I smoothed everything with around...Last edited by lake weir skier; 11-28-2021, 10:03 PM.

That's a bit of a sore subject at the moment. They are functionally installed and I just needed to touch up a little paint damage near the difficult to reach rear fasteners when I discovered I trashed the outer side of one of them with the motor box. I needed the floor out of the way to adjust the stuffing...

This is how the new risers look after sanding with a belt sander, sanding by hand to remove some flats introduced on curves with the belt sander, and painting. Along the way, I filled in some imperfections in the casting with JB Weld. I painted with Rustoleum Engine Primer 500 F followed by three coats...

After much time away from working on my boat, I recently completed engine re-assembly and ran the engine for the first time since May of 2020 when I started tearing it down. In addition to having a local machine shop do a valve job on the heads, I replaced the strut bearings with new Glide Vesconite...

Lapping compound in prop installation
Anybody here with experience lapping a propshaft taper/prop have an opinion on "coarse" versus "fine" compound? My 94 Mastercraft owner's manual says use "coarse." The linked to source says use "fine." Neither gives a numerical grit rating, but I'm considering...
