Wow - can't believe you are selling the Maristar. Any chance you have a good scan of the Owner's manual and brochure? All I've been able to find is a scan of an old black and white photocopy for my '99. Don't stray too far :-)

At this point I would try to remove the rest of the sheet metal casing and use a punch (or screwdriver) with a hammer in the base plate holes to unscrew it
(filter base pic here)
or fabricate an appropriately sized pin wrench to fit the holes in the base plate.

I'm just wondering what could go wrong with 400 volts on the water.....hmmm. I've got a Lexus with all kinds of safety features - that sometimes don't work like they are supposed to.

Thanks guys! I wasn't assuming anything but the clearance on my engine is several inches. I do see in the picture posted by Ken how little clearance some other engine options in other model boats have compared to mine so the vestigial structure/one size fits all explanation fits for sure.

That is what I was thinking - a vestigial structure. My engine has several inches of clearance.
Any pics of your triple conversion? any advice? Did you retain the honeycomb or use some other type of panel?...

210 Maristar - huge hole in the sundeck?
So the PO of my Maristar 210 removed the linear actuator for the sundeck. While he was trailering it, the wind caught it and you can guess the damage that occurred - mostly to the honeycomb panel. I bought it knowing I would convert it at some point to a triple door setup so It doesn't really concern...

Looks like my trailer spindle problem is becoming a trailer refurb project. Both brake cylinders and the actuator are shot. May be time for a disk brake conversion????
