I had it done when I bought the boat so I don't remember the cost but I think it was like $2K (but ICRS these days!), the only part i changed was to the buy the 3" longer lenco actuator and i actually was able to do a trade with the dealer on them as they could use them as spares.

I had the same issue, I removed the bushing on the end of the screw and that got me enough room to put the clamp behind the prop. You just need to make sure you don't have the screw slip off the shaft but its pretty simple.
