Good thought. We have the ballast valves off and have not used the tanks. Maybe where the exhaust goes thru the hull?

Definitely lake temp. In the locker it's.nly down in the seam. May be coming from the thru-tube at the back. Bilge is not high enough to reach that level so I'm wondering if I have a leak in the exhaust system somewhere.

Could use some knowledge. We are getting water in the bilge and also under the lounge seat. Not sure where it is coming from. Anyone experienced the same thing?

When reassembling, if you pre-grease the sleeve before you put the rudder in it will same you some time and clean-up. I did not do this step and when I went to pump the assembly full of grease, there was a lot of leaking around the grease zerk. I had to go very slow and do a lot of rudder turning...

The depth finder on my x14 does the same thing. Running along in 150' of water then all of the sudden it shows 3 feet. Pretty unnerving when on a new piece of water. I'm hoping someone has an answer, but I'm afraid it's just the way its going to work.

I did. For $75 it's hard to beat. During my initial frustration I looked at replacing just the bushing but the price I saw online was over $100 for just the part so I didn't even consider it.
The removal wasn't that bad, had I just used the hair dryer from the start.

Great. Thanks.
Also, it looks like the 5200 was used on the under side of the hull and black rtv was used where the plate bolts from the inside. Does that sound right?

So those of you that have had your port rebuild or replaced, any tips on applying the adhesive when re-assembling? Just wondering what everyone has done especially around the 4 bolt holes.

So I decided to take on this job in between vacations to try and eliminate my rudder hum. I tried all of the ideas from this and other threads, and the only thing that worked was HEAT and patience - using a hairdryer to heat up the mount under the boat and eventually working a putty knife in between...

Yea, when a drive line strike is involved it's hard to know if it's just one component. I'm going to do the rudder seal replacement and tighten that up, and then see if there is still a hum.
With the 13x11 I'm only getting 40.5 mph GPS and an empty boat with 15 gallons of fuel, no wind,...

Yep. Me too. Slight bend in the OEM prop this week at Norris and only available replacement was an OJ 13x11. Boat now hums. I thought it might be a rudder vibration but since you are having the same problem I'm wondering if its a prop issue. I don't like the 13x11 at all (even without the hum)...
