Rossterman - When you say “require some wiring mods” does this just mean higher gage wires based on the distance?

Or is there other wiring mods I will have to make for this to work correctly?

Mike - I'm not sure if they used CGA parts or not. I've had problems with this alternator for years so I just went ahead a pulled the trigger and bought a new one this morning. Went with:

Where does the purple/exciter wire connect?

There are two terminals where it can connect at the bottom...wondering if I have it connected to the wrong terminal.

It was rebuilt at a local shop here in Dallas that is conveniently now out of business.

It only has two wires that connect to the back

Red wire - power
Purple wire...

From 1-10 I would give it a 5. You can hear the whine of the engine pretty clear. Its not super loud but when you speed up it gets louder.

I can turn up the music to drown out he whine but when you turn the volume down it is a constant annoying wine...

Behind the dash their us a wire harness that comes down that has a two wires grouped
together for the radio: Red wire is tagged with "Radio" and the black wire is tagged "Ground."

So this ground is not a strong ground for the radio?...
