  • I had this boat for 4 years and we were able to get a pretty decent wave. We ran 800 lb bags in each rear locker (had to strengthen engine compartment walls), and a 350 lb bag in the center locker. These were all plumbed in and filled off of a reversible pump. We then had 500 lbs of lead I’d move...

That’s awesome, and it looks nice! What product line of vinyl did you get? Did it have the pink 1/4” foam backer to it? Did you add the 1/4” when upholstering or just directly the seat cushion alone? Did you use their silk wrap for waterproofing?...

  • I bet they will come out in the sun. If you want to, I’ve used a heat gun on low setting, very quickly, to smooth out corners. Try it in a rest piece first so you can test the limits.

Alternator Rebuild 55 Amp to 110 Amp

I have just about finished a 1995 Mastercraft Maristar (LT1 engine) project. I’ve added a ballast system, upgraded the stereo, and a bunch of other things...Probably will detail my adventures shortly. However with all the new electronics, my 2 (new) batteries can’t keep charged on longer trips....

I gauge the mounting height by the size of the “plume” the suck gate makes at surf speed. If you can barely see a bump of water it’s too low. If it’s spraying huge and spraying way high, it’s mounted too high. I’ll see if I can take a picture this weekend just to show what I look for. Though...

From my experience the farther back the better. And in my mind it makes sense...these devices are intended to disrupt the flow of water, so having it farther back leaves the least room for water to stream again coming off the hull. My Maristar has a tapered rub rail and so getting farther back was a...

  • I’ve seen a few options in this forums and recently implemented 2 of them myself.

    Option 1:
Here is a link on eBay for some honeycomb flooring. It’s only 7/8” so it may not be thick enough.

Drivers seat removal 95 prostar 205

I don’t think it does allow it to slide farther forward with them out. Now to clarify, I was unscrewing the bolts going up into the bottom of the seat. Then I took out the screws for the rails attached to floor box. Hopefully someone else has some...

Drivers seat removal 95 prostar 205

I recently removed mine for a similar reason. What I had to do was to slide the seat as far as it would go to get the best access, and then hooked a flexible bit extension to my impact driver and was able to get it in position to loosen the back two...

    Exhaust Hose Replacement

Yesterday on my 1995 Maristar w/ LT1, I was replacing my mufflers with a straight pipe (I have installed a fresh air exhaust, and FAE creator suggests quieter performance with a straight pipe) and I noticed my wet exhaust hose was deteriorating and actually had a hole in one of the corrugations. ...

  • 1995 Maristar Walters V-Drive & ZF Hurth Oil Change

I’ve read through some threads on here about changing the transmission oil, but am still a little confused. Here is a picture of my transmission, with the labels. I will get cleaner pictures of the label when I can. I believe it’s the Walters V-Drive & ZF Hurth.

    1. Do I use transmission...

  • Thanks guys. So I did figure the flange out. I was inpatient and tried 2 orientation trying to align it with the mounting holes. Apparently it is not a perfect triangle pattern and one of the holes is a shorter distance from the 3rd hole. I measured this on the pump and will likely be able to install...

    LT1 Raw Water Pump/Cooling System

Hello, fairly new to Mastercraft and hoping to find some help here.

Last year I purchased a 1995 Mastercraft Maristar VRS 200 With the LT1 engine and it ran great for the season. Though the thermostat gauge never changed (stayed at 0), I put it off and thought I would address that now,...
