Yes, try wet sanding with 120 or so. Hopefully being only 2 years old you will be able to get through it. It is easier to make progress with the lower grits then work your way up, compared to going crazy with high grits for a long time....

In that process, the sanding is done wet. I just get a hose and wet it down, sand, rinse, sand, rinse, etc. Wet sanding is much easier than dry sanding, as it is easier to clean up and the sandpaper lasts a very long time. You'll get the feel for how much water to use. Let that dry, apply the Starbrite...

I've got an NXT22 "scheduled" for completion next week, ordered Nov 4th, ironically right when they did their "deck the dock" ad campaign. I always expected it would get delayed, and a month or so wouldn't impact me all that much. However, I'm getting a little worried I'm not getting...

I put a New Dimensions mini tower on my 209 last summer. That's the way to go for the 209, as its the "OEM" tower. If you do it and can remember, I can give you some tips on install. The locations they put in the instructions were not quite right because the holes didn't hit the reinforcement...

I think you mean X7. That was the "X" boat based on the 197. The X9 was the sibling to the Prostar 209

I'll be listing my 2002 Prostar 209 soon, depending on the ETA for our new boat....

RD, been following this thread and really enjoying all your updates! Let me know if you need help with that teak cupholder. Seems like you probably have that covered, but if not, I've got a full woodshop with CNC capabilities and can make pretty much anything out of wood. I'm guessing this would...

Why 2004-plus? I've got a 2002 PS209 that will be going up for sale in the spring.

I'll echo the comments about the buyer making no effort to clean it up. I've got a 2002 PS209 I'll be selling in the spring, and know very well how the vinyl of this year stains easily and is hard to clean. However, that doesn't mean it is impossible to clean. They just didn't try. Also, the pictures...

FYI all, I decided to just go ahead with the factory stereo. My wife said she didn't want me drilling holes in our brand new boat, haha.

Yeah, I'm not worried about that part at all. Thanks for the tips above, too. How would that bazooka mount?
I noticed you edited your post... not sure I could keep the 209, haha. Why do you think I'd miss it? I admit a certain romanticism with not having a massive boat, but the family...
