Igormaster, I hope Taco470001 got a board from JJ. Would you be willing to ship your old Gromcast to Utah? If so PM me for an address....

It's been a few weeks in the making. I decided that having a FAE (fresh air exhaust) negated the need for a space consuming and frustration inducing muffler. I got ahold of the good folks at FAE and had them build me some straight pipes with baffles in them. They said the baffles weren't necessary...4 Photos

I had a similar problem a couple years ago. It’s a different engine, 2004 MCX, but the diagnostic approach may help. It’s a long, technical read (62 posts) but hopefully there’s something in there that could help you. In the end, it was my ignition coil.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I needed an alternator for my 2004 X-30 with MCX and had a hard time finding one. I finally found one at NAPA part number 8467. About $200 after a promotional discount.

Like New Garelick Adjustable 12"-17" Seat Post
Garelick 12"-17" Adjustable Seat Post. Fit my 2004 X-30 seat bolt holes perfectly. I wanted to sit higher but found this was too high. It made my seat interfere with the throttle handle. Decided to go with a 9" to replace the original 6" pedestal.

Original 6" Seat Post from 2004 X-30
Original OEM Garelick 6" Tall x 3" (2 7/8") post diameter x 9"-ish base diameter. It came off my 2004 X-30 but will fit many boats from that era.
I decided to change to a 9" post for better viewing.
$25 + shipping....

I finally got to take the boat out last Friday. The weather stripping worked perfectly. No peacock or rooster at any speed.
I've never noticed any performance issues from my FAE. I was hoping it would make my boat silent...but that may be asking too much.
Happy summer,...

I decided to go the "garage door weatherstrip" direction. As you can see from the pictures, I grabbed some Garage Door Seal from Lowes that had about a one inch flap.
With some 1/16th inch x 1 inch aluminum and some SS fender washers, I through bolted the seal onto the front...

You will love the Blue Sea switch/ACR. I installed one in both of the boats I've owned. I never worry about dead batteries anymore. I will never own another boat without that system...or one better....

I believe so, that was my plan eventually. Anybody with more expertise is free to correct me. I'm just a shade tree mechanic finding what I can on the internet. I have no official experience with trailers....
