replied to Stupid Question re: VRS
The SV has a swivel observers seat.

The VRS has wrap around seating with aft-facing observers seat.

Mastercraft only offered the Maristar in 200vrs, 225sv and 225vrs in 1998. The 200 is 21' and the 225 is 23'. The 225 also has rear seating that wraps around behind the drivers...

  • I have 2001 X10 w/ zero flex and it sways left/right and shakes in choppy water because its not well supported in the sideways direction. I don't recall it rattling or making noise in choppy waters but probably can't hear it over the wind and water. It's sturdy and holds up to my sons pulling hard...

    replied to Lake Conroe Experts
Conroe is not so bad if go at the right time to the right place. During the summer its a no brainer its going to be busy on the weekends so we go during the week and typically only a few other boats are out there. The weekends are better in April/Oct/Nov but the water is a little cool. We were at...

    replied to Gas Powered Generators
Mine is not an automatic transfer switch. I have to plug the generator into the outdoor box then flip the breakers on the transfer switch from utility power to generator power. It doesn't take long if you keep your generator in good condition. So if the power goes out in the middle of the night my...

    replied to Gas Powered Generators
I have a 8250/5500 generator and a 6 breaker transfer switch that has gotten my family through two hurricanes. This setup transfers power from the generator to 6 breakers in my house breaker box that are most used during a storm. I have two frigs, microwave, temporary window AC, TV, lights, ceiling...

    replied to Wave push?
On my boat the shaper location and the depth of the water affect the wave push the most. When I first got my swell slim I put it on as far back as possible and the push was horrible so I started inching it forward and tried until I found the best distance from the back and that is about 8". We...

    Goodyear or Otsego Lakes, NY

Any tt members on Goodyear or Otsego lakes in New York and would like to be a tour guide for a few hours? My son is playing in the Cooperstown baseball tournament and my family will be in the area June 29-July 4.

My family has never boated outside of Texas so it would be cool to explore...

    replied to Taking on Water
The prop shaft seal is under the front of the engine. Best way to access is rear port compartment with flashlight. If it has the prop shaft stuffing system like in the picture it will have a small water drip every few seconds by design but if its has a continuous stream of water then it needs to be...

    replied to X-10 questions
I would do the tank buster over piggy back system. One bag would be faster to fill/empty vs a tank and a bag and with the piggy back system you would have additional hoses running in the compartments. One large bag would be a cleaner set up.

I have made my own suck gate and have bought...

    replied to X-10 questions
I have the 310hp TB X10 and think its a good all around boat. The early X10s used the same hull as the maristar. MC slapped a tower, ballast tanks and some graphics and called it a "wake board edition" so the hull is general purpose built. Top speed is low to mid 40s depending on the crew...

  • I just got my swell last week and only had a chance to dry fit it. It fit perfect down low and back and sucked right to the boat with little effort. I've gone through two suck gates, first one I made my self and second was the inland one. Biggest challenge with those two gates were getting it to...
