    Removing Mastercraft Lettering

Has anyone ever removed the new Mastercraft letters (metal ones) from their boat and kept them in good condition to reinstall them? I have a buddy that has black letters that are marked up and is wanting to remove them to see if he can polish them to the satin look and reinstall them.

Unfortunately, this won't work. The adhesive is very strong and will not come off cleanly. Likely the letters will bend or break when removing.

Thanks John, that's what I was afraid of. They dont have much movement even with a little heat.

Heat gun and fishing line. Google de-badging a car on Google. People do it all the time.

Use fishing line to slice between gel coat and letters. You can remove them with zero damage to letters or boat. Just cleaning the old double back tape of the letters well enough to use them is a pain.

Great, thanks. It sounds like you're better off spending the $$$ and buying a new set.
