At your skill levels, IME you and the Admiral will be disappointed skiing any of the XT's. For us pedestrians, she skiis fine at slower speeds and longer lines open water.

Instinct suggests that at your 34+ mph, -32 or less line, much faster crossing speeds, and the larger vdrive hump - that is a bad combo. While I've never been shortline, my guess is there may also be a bit of a rooster tail, not sure.

Get the larger boat for your crew and mixed watersports, all of which are great. But keep your 214 or say trade her in for an older PS for your slalom outings.
