No problem, and understand, my questions are to help you figure it out, not being critical.

So based on the picture below, the holes in the front show that the tower that 'was' on it at one point was a 4-point tower and most likely the ZFT3. If like you said, it sunk, or maybe got stuck under a canopy on a lift and the tower got damaged, the tower you have is a replacement?

I think the issue is the 2 point tower requires more fiberglass reinforcement than the original 4 point tower that came on your boat. You'll need to beef up the rear mounting fiberglass, probably with some steel plates under the gunnel to support the 2 point tower you're planning on using.

@Double D - 100%, I got the other tower that's mastercraft-branded because it was available and not an aftermarket one. I'd been watching for the OEM x-14 tower, but they're all either damaged or missing parts.

@eecyclone - Agreed. I'm planning on plates underneath that follow the contour of the hull. I'm also going to need to machine some new feet pads for it, as it's not the same as the X2. I'm kinda torn between acetal copolymer or HDPE here. I believe the original material is starboard, which is basically HDPE with additional UV protection additives.

All of this is stuff I've thought out & planned over the last 6-8 months, but breaking it into milestones. By far the biggest milestone was getting it running. I'm there and it is a great feeling. After the on-water test next week, interior is next, then stereo (isolator & amp(s) are missing, assuming radio is dead, but haven't tried, remote control is broken), and lastly is the tower.

on-water test was a success. I uploaded a video to the google photos album, along with pics of the wake tower.

She floats!! And sounds good. Congrats on that milestone.

That tower will be fine on that boat. It will just make it look like a 2012 or newer model.

Oh, and I believe the tower is a ZFT0 from an X2, I guess I blended them to make ZFT2. I need to find a bimini top for it, now.

The first time I took it out the exhaust tubes leaked a little water in, adjusted the host clamps & tightened them up. Took it out again, this time spent over an hour on the water, several WOT pulls. Cruises around 43 MPH at 4900 RPM and seems really dry. PerfectPass seems to work, as well.

I couldn't completely tell how dry it is, though, because 1) I pulled the hose for the KGB tank and drained it on the way to the lake (the tank was full when I got the boat and the pump motor was locked up), so there was some water from that in the bilge; and 2) it rained on me a fair bit when I first got on the water. Bilge pump works like a champ, though (I did test that before my initial on-water test).

I sat floating with motor off and could not see any ingress of water anywhere.
