Bad day at dry dock
Well, I have had my boat for one month and we went out yesterday. I arrived at the marina and was told that they bumped my boat putting it in. They have assured me they will take care of it. I believe they will. I have had a boat at this marina for 7 years. They hit the swim platform with the elbows of the fork lift. There are three areas that need repair, with the obvious larger area.
My thoughts are a new swim platform instead of repairs. The swim platform in gunmetal flake is $540 according to my build sheet. I cannot see them repairing this for less than that. It was $400 to repair a gouge in the side of my old boat and it was a much easier repair. What are your thoughts? |

New. Explain that repairs will affect your resale. My 0.02

A new one is going to cost a lot more..... The cost on your build sheet, is just the flake upcharge.
That being said, you will need to tell them that a repair is out of the question. You will always see the repair area. That is a new boat, and it will need a new platform! |

No way it could be repair without noticing where it was damaged.... New deck all the way.

Duct tape till end of season or new platform arrives. Saves kids fingers from fiberglass shards. Still want to surf that thing!
