Awesome to see someone out there enjoying it! You guys are tougher than I am. What was the water temp and are you on the private or public side?

We are up the northern branch of the Pamunkey on the cold side. Water was upper 40's air about 60. Not too bad.

Rob at "The Boat Shop" (High Point Marina) is the best gelcoat guy I have ever seen.

Tell him James sent you. : >

I came across this thread while doing some research on Lake Anna. I'm heading there in July for a week. I will be by Dike #2. Anything worth checking out on the lake? Any contests or events in July? Thanks.

Just up the lake is cocktail cove where lots of nearby boaters tie up. Reasonably family friendly music is usually playing.
Skip Tim's for food and go to "the cove" unless you're not price sensitive. They both often have live music so check the bands first.
If you want a cruise, head to the sandbar past Tim's. We don't go there much anymore but without kids is a good time. At the no wake zone in front of Tim's I've seen the police/dgif running the gauntlet on boats (safety and dui checkpoint on busy weekends).
There's a lake Anna concert series that's free and boat friendly near Anna point. You'll have to Google the dates and not sure if they're posted for this year yet.
In the morning you can get some good ski runs in along the dike and later all the rest of the sports.
There's a lake Anna poker run that occurs in July too and I keep missing it but looks like a lot of fun.
All this assumes you're on the public side though.

We just opened up a Lake Anna Ski club, so we are offering pulls from any discipline to join us.

PM me for details, you need to at least be a Grassroots member of the USA Waterski Association.

Events to follow.

Agree with the comment about Tim's vs. The Cove. Tim's has turned in to school lunch as of late.
