x30 Ballast Check Valve not making noise?

When draining the ballast on a friends X30 (and on my X10) the rear bags always started to sound like a walrus was in the boat... normally only when there was about 35% left to be drained. Never made any noise filling. we both have upgraded rear bags.

Fast forward to this past weekend, the noise stopped in my friends X30. Anything to be concerned about? Do these check valves tend to go bad after about 3-4 years? Still under warranty, but thought I'd ask the group if there is something to be concerned about.

Frankly? I like it quite, but that's just me.

I believe the check valves will only make noise while draining if flow through the bags is being blocked due to the bag collapsing on itself. If no blockage then no air needs to enter through the check valve and therefore no noise. I could be wrong.
