Our dealer has said the same, and I'm ready to do something before winter, so I'm also anxiously waiting.
I know I'm not the in the majority, but in our family, we need a boat the size of the 26. I can't tell you the last time I've been out and not had at least 7 on the boat. That's just us, without friends or extra kids. I'd be all over a supersized wake/surf boat.
It's funny that 20 years ago you had all the kids go do the front to help it get in plane, now you send all the kids to the back to help with ballast.

LOL, as a kid my neighbors had a 16' Glastron with an 85 hp outboard. It would go fast enough to slalom and barefoot behind on top speed. But you had to survive several seconds through the pull out of the hole in hopes of not drowning. We would send any passengers to the bow upon take off and even had the driver stand and lean over the windshield to get on plane.
If you did actually survive and hang on you could reap the rewards of a super small wake to cross. If not your sinuses were plugged for a week!XT20 5500 GDI Black Mica/Black Topdeck/ Black interior

I have firm confirmation from my dealer that the new X26 is coming out, with pricing available in October. He is all ready asking me about trading mine in on a new one. Depending on the price difference and how much improvement is on the wave I might take him up on it.
I am sure more info will come out of MC soon.

Love our ‘18 X26 and were thinking we’d upgrade to the new one, especially if the wave is improved like the X24, but I’m not sure I’m feeling the walk around. I’ll have to see it in person.
Cons I can think of:
- lose all the storage that was under the second lounge in bow. Those 2 lounge seats up front are so nice
- hard to converse with the bow from the rest of the boat, people up there will be completely isolated from the rest of the boat
- my wife loves to ride in that forward facing seat. Now you have to close the windshield and partition to avoid a face full of wind. I’m think airflow to the back of the boat will be limited
- don’t like how the fold back windshield portion is partly curved and sticks up when folded open
- I think the head was ordered something like 15% of the time, I don’t know why they made this change
- it looks like there’s no glove box any longer
- missing some cup holders behind the driver
- hopefully they didn’t take away my (2) built in coolers and (2) trash cans
