Ever since I saw the wheel on the new Prostars I knew I wanted it. However, I wasn't real interested in what MC wanted for it. So some research here pointed me to a replica on eBay. The only problem was the wheel used a keyed shaft vs the splined shaft on my '08. Some more research showed swapping the tilt helm for a keyed shaft was pretty straight forward.
Wheel is a Gussi M930: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232697790295
Tilt helm is a Seastar SH91800P: https://www.ebay.com/itm/122907614753
Pulling the wheel and helm is super easy, just a few bolts. You don't use half the parts from the new helm, just unbolt the old tilt part and swap in the new one. Slide on the new wheel and you are basically done.
The only difference with the actual wheel is the center cap. The MC is etched with the shield. Domednumbers has a decal specifically for this: https://www.domednumbers.com/online-...cal-p180074936. However, be aware the default size on their website is too big. No idea why, they show the exact wheel, but the diameter you need is 1.89". The first one I ordered was too big. It didn't matter b/c I didn't like the color so I ordered another. I tried using their brushed mettalic as the background color but it ended up being too dark. I ended up with light gray background, it matches well but not perfect. Viper Red shield to match the boat.
Pretty happy with the results.
