Not promoting 'bu boats, here.

Sunsetter LX has the diamond wake hull(original Wakesetter) Response and Sunsetter LXI have the diamond 3 event hull bottoms....they come from different modes. (Plus, upgraded interior)

We picked the LXI, for interior room (couldn't find a decent Sunsetter LXI), over a 197 and 206.

Just not a lot of choices, in the 20' direct-drive market.

I sure hope you don't relegate to a Malibu. However boat prices are ridiculous right now. I see boats from the late nineties going for upward of 30K. If you're patient I think you could probably find a 197 or 209 eventually. Good luck.

A good friend of mine popped a $30 Apple Airtag in his boat as he stores it away from his house.

Although with what he paid for his NXT and where prices have gone since he bought, he'd be ok with insurance paying out market value

NOW, A Sunsetter LXI, is a different story. But it is like a 209 or 214, hard to find.

Sorry for your lose.
07+ Response LXi are taller, especially in the bow. But yeah, the cheapest Sunsetter LXi I've seen recently was a $27k 1999 with no tower. Truly is a seller's market out there.

I had an X9. Feel your pain with the "tweener" hull. The difficult part is finding something in decent shape.
you mean evidence camera...

There's this. https://austin.craigslist.org/boa/d/...301346392.html

Price drops, generally after labor day. With IRS deadline, delayed till May (June for Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana), some should start showing up. Bit the OP, lives in Cali.

Plus, his boat was a Sammy Duval edition! Really, can't replace that!

I hate to thread jack, but FWIW, I have zero interest in buying a boat now, and I've owned one for 20 years. This market is just not normal. My sincere condolences to the OP. It would infuriate me. I hope insurance does justice.

To make matters worse, if the boat has a full tank of gas, the price is now doubled.

I have had worked on and continue to work on a couple aging Mailbu's owned by friends. Unless you're absolutely stuck on a specific model I would recommend looking to another brand like Nautique. The 200 model is pretty close to what you had. IMO the quality is much higher than the Malibu and where that quality really pays back is as the boat ages.

The area that seems to be the worst on the 05 Response Lxi and the 06 Wakesetter VTX have both been with the electrical although the Response has been plagued with fuel system issues since day one. A lot of the fasteners have vibrated loose and hinges seem to have degraded unusually fast as well. My previous 07 X2 didn't have near as many little problems pop up like these boats nor have I seen them on the neighbor's 08 Nautique. For certain all boats have their issues and weak spots but both Malibu owners I know would not buy another one.

The Centurion Carbon Pro is pretty good, there's a guy at our club with a 3000hr 2016 that still looks good as new.

Or bite the bullet and find another 20k on top of (I'm assuming) roughly 30k insurance payout and get a 2014/15 prostar or similar age Nautique 200
