1997 Maristar 225 swim platform replacement

The 1997 Maristar 225 has an integrated swim platform. At times I wish it was a bit deeper and a bit wider. Has anybody ever extended the the current. It would be a stainless steal frame that is bolted to the current integrated swim platform. I would probably go out another 12-18 inches. On top of the SS frame I would attach teak.Has anybody ever done this

I have a 1994 Maristar with the same integrated swim platform but I have not done this or seen it done. If you decide to go this route and you want to surf the boat too; make sure that the swim platform is not so big that it interferes with the surf wave.
