Go with OEM at $$$ or new GPS Faria Speedometer for less?

speedometer stopped working 2 summers ago, moves to 40 and stays there. Got and put in another Speedometer off ebay which could have been back too, no change. The paddle wheel housing has 2 broken fins which may be affecting it but has a new paddle wheel. This summer the fuel gauge started working funny. It would be fine then the next time be past full or still on empty then o.k. again. So now I'm thinking ECM. The dealer is going to trouble shoot, but I'm afraid it will take a lot of time/money vs just putting in a new Faria aftermarket GPS speedometer. However this Faria has a chrome bezel and will not match the original gauges in looks. A ski buddy put Faria in his 2000 Nautique and it looks professional. Anyone had good or bad experience with the.
BTW I don't plan on reselling (unless that 03 S&S 190 comes available). It's a 03 S&S 197 with 1067 hours. TIA

Tons of material on gauges here and detailed responses, some pretty scathing ones from me in particular. If you're paying someone to troubleshoot I would recommend you stop immediately as you're going down a rat hole that will never pay off. The gauges on that year boat are junk and will drive you nuts trying to fix them. They were a horrendously poor design by Medallion that have been talked about without end on multiple boating forums.

My advise would be the rip off the band aid and find one of the very detailed gauge replacement threads and work out a place for replacement.

How hard is it to get to the Paddle wheel on an '06 X45? Speedometer is registering 15 mph faster than I-phone GPS speedometer

my speed is showing zero and my temp is showing 150. Should I assume my airmar transducer is bad?

It's simple to remove, just unscrew the retaining ring and pull the unit straight up and out...of course, your boat needs to be out the water. Once removed, you may be able to straighten out the pin that wheel rotates on unless you have some broken paddles, then you will need to replace the wheel.
have had this happen several times. as was said above:
Once removed, you may be able to straighten out the pin.
if the wheel doesn't spin freely the pin is bent. push out the pin and straighten. reinsert and you are good to go.
the fins are gone from mine for awhile and it works just fine.

I did get a reading and everything is fine with mine. If you have an older style of perfect pass you may get by with turning the wheel with the key on. apex legends mouse review
