A DIY version of this looks like the best option for my Hydrodyne with the molded in swim platform. I'd like to see ones that any of you have made.

Instead of velcro or suction cups, MC/BU/SAN/etc. will come out with some billet slides/tracks/rails with locking pins and mount those on the side of the boat (it will look nice) and will be a $5000 option.

The track system will look/work like this:

For another $500, you can have the manufacturers logo on the wedge. For another $800, you can choose your own color scheme.

The person that buys this does not have the tools or the time to build one of these.....that is where the market is supposedly heading. What's another $6,300 on a $200k boat?

PS#1....

To all Manufacturers:

Since I just posted this on the internet, I am hereby notifying you that I designed the track system and expect royalties to be coming my way or I will sue you for a lot of money.

PS#2....

Doug (Eastie).....please be notified that I am using you as my attorney.
Don't think anyone will be using this as an oem option... Everybody and their brother has a factory surf system now. Heck GOSurfAssist is less than 5k and works better than most.

I built one because it's the off season and I was bored, like trying something new. Plus I would not hear the end of it if I out surf tabs on my Prostar. I've never surfed before and don't know if I'll like it. Cheap and fun way to help decide on what kind of boat I want next.

Got a solid 15 min of work so far. Most of that was time spent in the garage looking for a drill battery.

I'm going to assume your hydrodyne is an inboard or jet drive. If it's an outboard or an i/o then ignore anything I'm about to say and please don't surf behind it!

I made one myself with great results. Two ramps to double the angle and get closer to 30 degrees (more like 36 but still closer to 30 than the 18 degree angle of only having 1). Then Velcro and a pool noodle and you are all set. Here's what my wake looks like:

Wow! I would like to try that! Can you send me your parts list and a few pictures?

Thanks!
