I was thinking he meant switchback ballast but I may have misunderstood.

My bad. Yes, I meant switchback. Was that not available on the X23?
I’ll throw a curve out there... how does the X23 surf compare to the X22? I know we’re now way out of the original budget range. Is the X22 enough of an improvement to justify the additional money (if he had it)? |

I was looking at 2018 x23 this spring and few used were listed at 99k and had a quote on brand new 2018 loaded left over for $114k, msrp was $185k, but with pandemic etc we decided to keep using pontoon this summer.... well now there are 4-5 used 2018s listed at $130k.... there is no way I can pay that much after I saw what it was selling for just 6 months ago....

yep, boats are overpriced at the moment, betting it will come down in a month or two once the season is over in various parts of the country. That's what I'm waiting for at the moment...

Second the X23 recommendation from earlier posts. It’s one of the few actual V hulls all the way to the transom. Makes it not so great for symmetrical wakeboard wake but great surf boat and by far the best rough water ride in the lineup IMO.
I have mine for sale over in the classifieds for $99k, which is a decent, non-covid price gouging deal. Ordered a Centurion 245, so need to sell eventually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

First, not knocking Mastercraft in anyway here. But we are at a point where our priority is almost 100% surf wave. We wouldn’t be unhappy if we kept the X23. Just looking to upgrade in a few areas. Here are the highlights: - Handles super rough water on big lakes better than any wake boat we’ve ever been on. We’ve owned and or ridden on pretty much everything from Mastercraft, Nautique, Malibu, Supra, Tige, MB. (x23 has been one of our favs in that respect, but still a little small for how rough our lake gets and has less freeboard) - Out of the box surf wave that is pro level with no lead or crew. So tired of needing to add 500-1,000 lbs of lead. It’s almost always just me and my wife. - More progressive/modern styling than MC but not as boxy as our G23. So hits the sweet spot for us. - Better value than x24, which is the closest comparison. And no Klipsh audio ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't understand why other companies don't offer more ballast like Centurion (at least as an option). It seems like such an easy option to add, and saves people the effort of moving lead around.
