I would definitely try only loading the ballast bags on the right side and the one in the bow. Also have everyone sit on the right side of the boat. It will cause it to list. Also put the mission delta on at a slight angle so that the front part is lower than the back part.

we tried all we could, but the mission delta was simply too high and splashing too much. I returned it to the store today. Going to do some more research, but so far only the Swell Creator Slim is a viable option.
We tried having all the ballasts full, and 3 adults sitting in the starboard rear for a goofy side wave. The size of the wave was decent, but the top of it was white and it was very short. only about 10 or so feet of ride-able area. It seems to me that the boat simply needs more weight everywhere to make a better wave. Also, the platform may need to be raised so it doesn't cut into the top of the wave.

Ok. I will not be able to test the Slim and Creator 2.0 until September 13th. My concern is that you might need the center tab to drive the front of the boat down to get a longer wave. Did you try only filling the ballast on the right side of the boat?

The Slim arrived today and it fits. I will provide an update after we test it.

I think that you should probably have a center trim tab installed. I am not sure that the Gen 1 surf tabs make a difference and I was told by Mastercraft that Gen 2 surf tabs cannot be installed on an X55 that is earlier than a 2014 due to the location of the hard tanks. The center tab will drive the bow of the boat down and extend the length of the wave.

have you tried the slim in the water yet? When I was looking at that lowest step in the hull I was thinking it would end up being way too low under water to be effective. I was thinking about trying it on the first "step"

as far as getting a center tab installed to drive the nose down, I think a simpler and cheaper solution would be to simply add more weight to the front. I'm gonna try some lead and see what happens

I will not be able to try it until this Friday. I plan to test it in 3 different locations to see how it impacts the wave. I will send an update late that day or early Saturday morning.

Unfortunately our boat is at our storage locker, which is about 30 minutes away. I will be taking the boat out on Friday and will try the Slim on the upper step. I also checked the FAQs on Swell's site and it states that the shaper should ride 3 to 4 inches below the waterline. I will let you know how things go.
