When I ordered my 214 in early 2008, I had choices on which ballast tanks to get if I recall correctly. I went the 214 route so I don’t have any ballast tanks at all.

2008 ballast tanks for many boat were not about sensors on the tanks but more about timers and fill/empty times ....do a bit of searching here on TeamTalk on ballast timers.

Sweet boat and a lot of knowledge here as you work through getting to know your new beast!

Enjoy .... on the Racks .... you can disassemble them so they split and you can see if that helps you remove them .... you may be missing some red plastic pieces that serve as “internal washers or guides” for th pivoting of the rack. Use a hex and on the stuck rack, go ahead and remove them ... here is a pic it should allow you to get the rack off the tower and see the inner workings ....

There appears to have been a switch where the center ballast should have been - but again - from my understanding - it came this way. Hard tanks in the stern, no center ballast. I wish I could find the buildsheet from MC - but I think that might be wishing a little too hard for an 11 YO Boat.
The X14 had 214 stitched on the observer seat. MC can print you a build sheet, double D has a connection there, so I'll bet it gets done soon.

Just joined the X14 club

Hi Guys just took the new (to me) X14DD for its first voyage.

Its a 2010, 350 hours and I believe I am the 3rd owner. It has some sun damage on the bow seat bolster and the T handles are missing from the racks but otherwise looks in very good condition.

Love it, cant wait for the water to warm up and get serious with it.

Arg....stumble

Hi folks!

Took the boat out yesterday for a more detailed run through (2nd time) learned a couple of things:

1) the key goes in both ways but only works one way.
2) When you're stressing about the key and moving in the boat - watch your head on the speakers!
3) The auto-catch feature on the trailer doesn't work if you don't prime it the right way
4) I hope I have bad gas.... holeshot is fantastic, running up to 3200 rpm works fine - punch it to WOT or ask more of it and it stumbles.... completely comes out of power - when you pull back on the throttle it wants to pickup again - could this be fuel pump or bad gas or new points and plugs?

The key turns to the left to give you radio power. Turn to the right turns everything on and starts it.

I spent 17 years without a boat buddy so when I got my X14 last year, I had to learn it to.
