2007 era controller replacement with relay system

Did anyone successfully replaced 2007 era ballast controller with relay system?
Quick history. 2007 X45 with MC installed switch system redirecting flow from bottom three hard tanks to piggy back top 4 soft bags. Has three levers that redirect flow. The original MC controller with three pump controllers in the box have been reprogrammed by T6 cougar to run without time limits. Worked for one season (was great!). One of the controller boxes went bad and was replaced with new one. There is also suspect wiring issue from controller to the switches at the helm.

Long story short; I want get rid of controller box and replace it with relay system.

Vaguely remember seeing such attempts somewhere on the forum long time ago.

Any wiring diagram suggestions would be much appreciated.

getting closer to go on the water around here!
