Take a vacation to Knoxville and tour MC, Bu and Skiers Choice. I think the trip would help you understand what you get (or don't get) for your money.

I agree, if you can swing this, it is an excellent suggestion.

I jumped in the new NXT22 at the dealer yesterday. The changes are incremental, but I think it’s a nice boat that’s been well thought out. The convertible rear seat works very well. For a similar price I would compare it to the new Moomba Kaiyen. The Moomba has more sexy features for sure. But that wouldn’t really sway me.

Get in the boats and think about how you use it. How do you use the storage, what features do you value the most, etc. Arrange test drives, fill it with ballast and build the wave, etc. You are looking at spending good money.

Like others have said the xt22 or xt23 would be more comparable.

As for Price point you can get the NXT22 to surf great and its wake board wake is awesome. The wake board wake at slow speeds is great when teaching people too. You will want to add the 710 rear bags from wake makers all in shipped costs is $400.00. Depending on your standard crew size you will want 400-700 lbs of lead to put mid ship, they take up almost no room. I'm 235 lbs and can stay in the pocket way back of the curl. With my set up it has a longer push zone for (big guys) than my buddies 2016 G23 (maybe he doesn't know how to set it up, used the preset settings) and my other buddies Supra SG550. Had a friend of a friend come out that has a Centron and he was socked how far back he could surf on my NXT22. I would recommend getting the GDI 5500 motor! The GDI 5.3 motor burns 3.5 to 4 Gallons per hour surfing and will be a huge savings and has the same power as the new 6.0 MPI motor (burns 2x the fuel), especially if your like me and put a lot of hrs per year on a boat.

Also with the MC Ilmor motors you get a 7 year 1,000 hr warranty and 5 years on the rest of the boat.

I would also recommend 4 tower speakers on the NXT, especially for wake boarding.

ATX boats site is up. Right off the bat the tower is awful looking, but other than that looks ok. Boat builder is not very intuitive and doesn't give any pricing.

I agree, that tower is horrible looking... I'm sure we will start seeing some of them on the water here in Austin.

Considering all of the options that had a "$" beside it I feel that it will be up to or over the NXT. Just have to see I guess.

Granted, that would happen at some point with any boat, but I don't want that right out of the gate.
To be quite honest that is a flawed mindset. Any brand new boat will have way more issues than it’s slightly used , discounted counterpart. Just about every new boat has some “issues” that will be needed to address and kinks to work out. It’s just the way it goes. A slightly used boat has all those things addressed and usually experiences much less down time at the dealer for small stuff. Warranties are transferable from a single owner boat. So don’t be afraid of the “new to me” route and let the big depreciation be had by the original owner . You’ll get more boat for your money. Plenty of guys dump boats every season to upgrade. It’s also beneficial being a first time boat owner in case it ends up not working and you need to sell.
