supposedly the 4runner will have a redesign for 2018. My wife's is a '12 Limited and we are waiting to see what changes are made before upgrading. It tows our '04 X2 with ease but the gas mileage isn't anything to write home about when towing. I had wanted to move to a Tahoe but she doesn't want (or need) anything that big really. We rarely tow with it unless I need to take my truck with gooseneck/tractor to the lake to work the property and we take 2 vehicles. Once the kids moved out to college, we downsized from a Suburban to a 4runner and she loves that size of vehicle and not many other mid side SUVs out there ...

Here is my Japanese Land Cruiser diesel pulling out my new to me X30. I will have to try pulling out in low gear because I felt like it was just a little too much on the clutch.

Thanks! It gets the job done
Must have went up in price. I got my 2014 limited with every bell and whistle for 40k. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Not a single warranty issue in 3 years. I plan on driviving it for a long time.

My wife has a 2016 4Runner Limited. I knew it going in, but man that thing is fricking GUTLESS. It's been a great family car for us so far, but it blows my mind every time I drive it how slow and unresponsive it is. The thing that gets me, is it's a lot like my old jeep, a false economy. I can't imagine how it couldn't get better gas mileage with an 8-cylinder.

/edit Z71-Silvy, I just shot you a private message. Wanting to know more about the side MC decals you have on that boat. Assuming those were added post-factory as I don't think those were standard in 05. Really like the look of that and am considering doing the same. Looking for ballpark price, physical size (length) and where to find them. TIA

My gf and I had talked about a G wagon so I wouldn't need multiple trucks but the resale on them is so high. They are the one MB that seem to really hold their value.

GL 550 with Tow Package is a total sleeper Tow vehicle
this one was ordered with a rare Off-Road package including 4W Low , It will pull 7500 lb out of the water at a scary pace should you be so inclined.
I love doing this with big Diesels next to me hauling out their Pontoon boats.
unlike the G wagon, adults can actually sit in the back seats...LOL

...I do love the G wagon though

I had no idea the GL had a low range. That really eliminates any transmission strain when pulling a boat out.

^^^ no one buys these things ( or most SUVs) to go "Off-Road" , But MB offered/s it in the GL.
Not sure why the guy ordered it, but its pretty cool. Also allows you to manually control the total ride height
TOW/Trailer Mode is pretty effective too, changes Suspension, and anti-sway dramatically.
