1993 Prostar Steering Cable Replacement

Hello,
Has anyone ever replaced their steering cable? I understand the installation in the helm and fishing the new cable in but I cannot find any information on how to disconnect and reconnect to the part behind the dash that the Steering wheel is connected to?

I have done it on my 209 prostar. It was pretty straight forward from what I recall. Have you looked under the dash to see how it connects?

Not sure how similar it is to my 2001 Maristar, but the helm side of the cable contains the “linear” gear potion in a regtangular metal box. 4 bolts connect to it to the bottom of the pinion (round) gear under the steering wheel.
