2006 XSTAR L18 8.1 L throttle Issue?

Does anyone have any ideal what this might be. started running very sluggish and would only get up to about 30mph and then it would start surging if you gave it WOT . you could hear the engine bogging down. It would idle fine. The engine would rev up some when you tried to put in reverse . I read some post on here and guys changed the Throttle position sensor (petitometer ) I ordered one and replaced it on the throttle assy but tried it yesterday and doing the same thing. Any ideals

This may be a shot in the dark but is your alternator not producing enough charge at certain rpms. If it's not you will not have enough power in the coils to keep up. I had this happen on my old ProStar than again on my Dad's Tahoe. The dealership argued with me when I told them what to check on my Dad's Tahoe. They kept thinking it was a bad fuel pump but came to find out I was right. We stuck an alternator on and the problem went away. Good luck

Thanks Will check that out , It seems to idle just fine but when you especially try to put in reverse , it revs up and going forward it just starts to bog down and run real rough

My first go-to when the moror begins to fall on its face is the MAP sensor.
