Pricing for 2011 Maristar 215

I recently test drove what I thought was a 2011 X15 with approx 260 hours. Everything looked and drove fine. I asked the current owner to get the boat checked out by Mastercraft. It turns out the boat is actually a 2011 Maristar 215. The Mastercraft tech wouldnt get into pricing. But, said everything basically checked out with the exception of some water in the transmission (never heard of that)..

My question to this community it does anyone know what a 2011 Maristar 215 should be priced at if in good overall condition?

Also, my main concern outside of pricing is whether there is a major difference in the surf wake that the Maristar produces vs. the the X15 would produce. The Maristar I'm looking at does have a ballast system.

Thank you for any feedback in advanced.

Same hull. Pictures or a link of the boat would be helpful

Thanks for the response @MC25. I will try to upload pics. Honestly I dont want the buyerto see them and for all I know he's on here. lol...

Do you have any input regarding the pricing for again a good to excellent condition Maristar 215?

Also, it sounds like there is no difference as far as wake is concerned. thanks again.

Even though the Maristar may have all the features of the X15 (tower, ballast, etc.) because it's a Maristar, it will command a slightly lower price. I don't have any pricing for you, but I think the X designator adds a premium over the Maristar. That might be a bargaining point.

/\ /\ /\ Hmmm..... I always thought the Maristar was the premium model from Mastercraft... Like the King Ranch or Limited Edition from Ford trucks. The Lexus to Toyota so to speak. I have seen higher pricing on the "X" series than the Prostars of comparable hull simply because they come with all the wakeboard/surf stuff from the factory; i.e. tower, ballast system, trim tabs, whatever. But if a Maristar came factory equipped with the same appointments, wouldn't it have a higher value than the "X"?

even though though they are the same boat, the X-series does always command a slightly higher price

looking at the various boat sites (boat trader, iboats, etc) you can get a good view of price ... you will have to decide how the boat you saw compares to some of these

The X15 had a center trim tab (cant remember if it has just one or three tabs) but not sure about the Maristar ... that center tab can really help making a great ski wake

Did they replace all the badging with X-Series logos? They're the exact same hull, but the Maristar didn't come from the factory with plumbed-in ballast or a tower, and had different graphics/vinyl. Maybe they couldn't find an X15 and really really wanted one so they made one themselves? Like others have said, the Maristar line generally pulls lower prices than the X-Series boats, which made my wallet love our 230VRS even more.

Not sure if it applied to newer models like 2011 but in the older ones only the X series has the billet dash.
