No one is getting the sender from Centroid when doing the MDC delete. Most are getting Wema senders, which use standard resistance values for use with standard analog gauges.

Ok, I’m about to remove my MMDC and switch over to analog gauges. I thought people ordered new senders from Centriod. I will order the Wema “KUS” model and run with it.

Thank you for all the great write ups. I'm about the make the change, HandleAndrew I have the same boat your pictures are very helpful.
Did you order a KUS Wema analog style sender? If so could you share the length?

I ordered the Chesapeake SS gauges but I had to get them all individually because I wanted the hour meter in the tach.

About to do this to my 04 Maristar...thanks to all for a great write up....did I miss something though? I see ppl talking about the GPS speedo....do I HAVE to get that or can I use the one Faria has in the kit with my pitot? And I think we now have a consensus that the fuel sender MUST be replaced? Thanks? Anybody done this near Hagerstown, MD by chance?

Tom

The GPS speedometer option is not that much more expensive than the pitot version and is far more reliable, hence most people going with it. There are two versions of the kit, one with the GPS speedo and one with the regular pitot version. You can use the non-GPS speedometer with the pitot tube.

Yes, the fuel sender must be replaced.

What are people doing to address the issue that when you pull the mmdc you lose the alarm feature for the oil pressure and temp? Just going without?

Outta curiosity I contacted skiboatparts.com about the $1k TRD conversion kits..... you guys with the o
03 models....did you have to replace the oil pressure sender as well. The guy said that somewhere around 03 or 04 they switched from a 1 wire sender to a 2 wire electrical sender that communicates with the ecm.

Tacho Feed

I have a Durite Marine Tacho which I'm now slotting in to replace the medallion one ( having converted my Oil & Temp a few years back ) However the Durite tacho says wire to the negative side of the coil .
Will this work if connected to the Grey Tacho Wire ? is the Grey Tacho feed negative or positive ? I dont want to short anything out as the Boats sold and i m remedying this for the new owner or should i just buy a Faria Tacho which obviously works of that grey wire
Many Thanks
Boyd ( UK )

I have an 03 X9 and will be doing the conversion soon. I plan to replace the temp sensor sender and if needed the oil pressure sender.

If anyone with the same boat needs a WEMA type fuel gauge sender it's a 7" unit.

Thanks,
