Went to the Sacramento boat show Saturday and got motivated to plan the trip. Booked a weekend in August yesterday out of Jones Valley. Stoked! And it is pouring all week. =) Come on rain!!

Its coming up with more rain in the forcast. Need snow to keep it full for late July.........

Mt Shasta must be looking pretty white today. But I suspect you would see little of it with the current weather. Silly me last year. Was boarding behind the boat up the Sacramento river arm and seen Mt Shasta in the distance pretty much still completely snow covered. What an awesome sight to behold in mid August. I say silly me because I did not snap a picture; just plain forgot.

I was looking at the CA Dept of water resources earlier. At 5PM, inflow was at 35k cubic feet per second.

Just to show how fast that lake can rise

Note on Jan 1 it rose almost 15ft. I was living in Redding at the time. I remember thinking I was going to build me an Ark that night.

Lake went up 1.5' in 24hrs...thats a hell of a lot of water! 15' in a day is unreal.

I have a great picture looking North at Mt Shasta from Slaughter house Island. I'll seee if I can find it.

Heres a raft up piture from 2007. Three of the Crownlines are gone and there are 2 more X2's and a Tige now. Also our RV site we've had for 7-8 years there............this will be our 13th year in a row. Come on June!

Yep, will go there a couple times, but mostly hang out in Goose Neck and O'Brien as Little Backbone is about a 30-40 min cruise from Antlers.

Typically we would board at Salt Creek Inlet and would have it mostly to ourselves in the morning and late afternoon. If/when someone would show up we would ride down the Sacramento River arm to O'Brien Creek. Just that is 6.5 mile run on a wakeboard. Backbone Creek looks nice, have to give that a try this year.
