F150 best gas mileage for highway driving setup

I need to make some changes in my vehicles and throwing a few things around. I drive 66 miles to work each way highway steady 75mph. Trying to get the best mpg in an f150. I’m not opposed to 2wd but would like 4wd. Standard cab or extended. Doesn’t matter.

2.7 eco boost will get you highway 22/23 in a 4x4 , 4x2 would be alllot better. Check fueley. com for real mpg. Driving that far I would keep the truck at home and get a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla used for $10k . A little less than double the mpg . Even a fusion ecoboost does 30mpg with 4 people and luggage . 38 with 1 person . The savings in gas alone will pay for itself in no time and you still have your truck for hauling.

I have a fusion now that I normally drive, but I drive my 08 Silverado a lot too. I’m on afternoons and I find myself doing things with the truck and don’t have the time to go home and change vehicles. Most the 2.7 4x4’s I’ve seen are rated at 24mpg. I just wondered if people are getting that traveling 75.

I’d rather drive a truck, but I want the best mpg I can get. 132 miles round trip adds the fuel bill up fast

I know. I’m not sure I want to have a payment that large. My Ford dealer has a couple 18 diesel’s on the lot still

I have a 2016 w 6 speed and have gotten 22/23 on trips if it's flat. Drove 650 miles on about 30 gallons , right on 22mpg with 4 people and all our bags and a loaded cooler. That left me with 6 gallons in the tank , we were laughing that we still didn't need gas after 650 miles on the road. Lifetime avg mpg is 19.5 with 46k on the truck, with 1000 miles of that according to the truck towing boats at 11 to 10 mpg. If you go much over 70 and have any hills the twin turbos will eat your mpg up.

I leased an 18 fusion for my girlfriend after I totaled her X5. I love it, and it gets 30mpg. It’s the small ecoboost

I have one with that engine in the family fleet, next year I get one and park the truck. The corolla and Civic rule on mpg though.

I’m pretty much 75mph the whole way to work. Pretty flat, all turnpike. My speed is why I question the mpg’s with the turbos.

I do like my fusion, shame they are going to stop making them

If it's flat your fine, 75 any hills the turbos get hungry, ran up north when it was new so in was was watching it pretty closely , through tn and ky got it up to 23mpg , hit WV and left there at 17 . Through Pa, ny, ct, ri, ma got the avg back to 21. WV is unreal to drive through, used lots of turbo through there.
