Surfing, then hear a pop

We were out enjoying a surf yesterday when I heard a “pop” and a couple of others in the boat heard it, too.

We looked in all the hatches, checked gages, etc, boat continued to perform so we kept surfing for a bit.

This morning I was prepping the boat for the day’s adventure and while vacuuming out the carpet under the right rear cushion, I found the source of the “pop”. This looks harmless but has anyone experienced this before?

I removed it (ballast tank strap thingy?) for now until I can check with my dealer.

Just to follow up, MC did replace the part under warranty. Dealer let me install it myself. Dealer also said MC told them to use washers this time to help spread the load. This must be happening on a few boats.

That connection should have washers on it from the factory. Odd choice of places to save pennies.....

Haha that's what I was thinking. Somebody didn't feel like climbing out of the boat to find the washers.
